Kim Jong-un, also spelled Kim Jong Un according to the North Korean standard, born January 8, 1983 in Pyongyang, is a North Korean statesman, current supreme leader of North Korea, where he holds the positions of Chairman and later General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission. He leads a Stalinist-like communist regime operating under a totalitarian logic that has one of the lowest levels of human rights in the world.
